Project Details
The project involved the conversion and refurbishment of a Victorian terraced property in West Kensington, London to create three one and two-bedroom residential units.
The development site is a corner plot forming part of a terrace and comprises a public house at ground floor level with residential accommodation occupying the upper parts of the building. The brief involved: major repairs to the existing fabric of the building as well as the reconfiguration of six bed-sit, studio and one-bedroom dwellings, to create three enlarged new residential units over two floors.
The external brickwork has been rendered to produce a much improved façade on a prominent corner site to provide a focal point, which is highly visible in all directions. Internally, the building has been remodelled to maximise the size of each new residential flat and to create a mix of units which provide suitable accommodation for those wishing to enter the housing market. Each dwelling has contemporary accommodation consisting of open-plan kitchens, living/dining spaces, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.
